Hiya, Tank! Our buddy Tank is truly the life of the Party. He packs so much joy into whatever he does that he could easily be the life of several parties actually. Tank is a real nature buff who makes sure he smells the roses between his adventures in life. As part of his love for anything muddy, dirty and “ick-tastic,” Tank is keen on getting his paws wet (and his head and his tail…). Tank is currently honing his swimming skills for the next doggy Olympics (don’t miss his videos via the links below). He thinks he’s the canine version of Michael Phelps! If you need a smile, this boy’s doggy paddle is sure to have you grinning from ear to ear. Tankster enjoys making new canine friends though his daintier canine counterparts can be a bit overwhelmed by his bouncy, Tigger-like manners. As with all our dogs, introductions of mature dogs are done slowly and carefully to build a solid foundation for the future. When he’s not taking a stroll with a 4-legged friend or enjoying a dip in the local crick, Tankini loves chewing a good bone and getting scratches from his human admirers. Tank’s toy drive is definitely worth noting—this guy will do just about anything for his prized tennis balls (he can fit two tennis balls in his mouth currently and is tirelessly working on finding room for no. 3). Tank’s real passion is for play; his bubbly personality is infectious. So no matter what kind of day you’ve had, he’ll be optimistically waiting for you—grinning with his two-tennis-ball smile! Young Tank entered our adoption program when his owner fell on some hard times and was forced to give him up. Although he’s been through a few changes in his short life, Tank has taken them all in stride. He’s always got his party hat on and looking for some fun! We’d like to brag that Tank has marched in two parades since his stay at the shelter and he was a big hit at both of them! Through oppressive heat and pouring rain, Tank greeted his thousands of adoring fans with a big smile and a wagging tail. Tank’s former life included a small child and he sure seems to enjoy the company of little ones (though his excitement may let a jump or two out—we’ll continue working on that!). We’re looking for a fenced yard for this athlete so he can amaze his new people with some serious zoomies (aka the butt tuckin’ boogie). Tank will be most successful in a home where he receives daily opportunities to run down his little batteries by jogging with his person, fetching a ball, going for a swim or maybe even trying his skills at Frisbee! Sorry, but Tank is not available to homes with cats. Tank is looking for an active family that shares his same zest for life. Could it be yours? Tank is a member of our selective pit bull adoption program, so he’s got some additional requests for his furever family. Rest assured--Tank says he’s well worth any extra effort! Also, as a member of this special group, Tank comes with a lifetime of free training through our pit bull only training classes.
Tank is on a vacation from the shelter. If you’d like to make an appointment to meet Tank or to learn more about him, please contact adoptabulls@cahs-pets.org.
