Tank (adoption pending!)
Hiya, Tank! Our buddy Tank is truly the life of the Party. He packs so much joy into whatever he does that he could easily be the life of several parties actually. Tank is a real nature buff who makes sure he smells the roses between his adventures in life. As part of his love for anything muddy, dirty and “ick-tastic,” Tank is keen on getting his paws wet (and his head and his tail…). When the weather allows, you can find Tank honing his swimming skills for the next doggy Olympics (don’t miss his videos via the links below). He thinks he’s the canine version of Michael Phelps! If you need a smile, this boy’s doggy paddle is sure to have you grinning from ear to ear. Tankster enjoys making new canine friends though his daintier canine counterparts can be a bit overwhelmed by his bouncy, Tigger-like manners. As with all our dogs, introductions of mature dogs are done slowly and carefully to build a solid foundation for the future. When he’s not taking a stroll with a 4-legged friend or enjoying a dip in the local crick, Tankini loves chewing a good bone and getting scratches from his human admirers. Tank’s toy drive is definitely worth noting—this guy will do just about anything for his prized tennis balls (he can fit two tennis balls in his mouth currently and is tirelessly working on finding room for no. 3). Tank’s real passion is for play; his bubbly personality is infectious. So no matter what kind of day you’ve had, he’ll be optimistically waiting for you—grinning with his two-tennis-ball smile! Young Tank entered our adoption program when his owner fell on some hard times and was forced to give him up. After being placed in a home, Tank is once again searching for that perfect fit. Tank was a great addition to the family but his exuberant demeanor tended to accidentally topple the wee humans. So, since our Tank loves the company of kids but can get swept up in his excitement, he is recommended to homes with children 5 and up. Although he’s been through a few changes in his short life, Tank has taken them all in stride. He’s always got his party hat on and looking for some fun! We’d like to brag that Tank has marched in several parades and he was a big hit at both of them! Through oppressive heat and pouring rain, Tank greeted his thousands of adoring fans with a big smile and a wagging tail. We’re looking for a fenced yard for this athlete so he can amaze his new people with some serious zoomies (aka the butt tuckin’ boogie). Tank will be most successful in a home where he receives daily opportunities to run down his little batteries by jogging with his person, fetching a ball, going for a swim or maybe even trying his skills at Frisbee! Sorry, but Tank is not available to homes with cats. Tank is looking for an active family that shares his same zest for life. Could it be yours? Tank is a member of our selective pit bull adoption program, so he’s got some additional requests for his furever family. Rest assured--Tank says he’s well worth any extra effort! Also, as a member of this special group, Tank comes with a lifetime of free training through our pit bull only training classes.

Chaz (adoption pending!)
Meet the resident Capital Area Clown, Jester Chaz! This loveable guy is all about having a good time. He’ll provide his new family with hours of delight just watching him amuse himself with tennis balls and chew toys. Chaz is the soft-hearted dorky type and will look about the room when he squeaks his toys: “Huh? Where’s that noise coming from?” He often tries to defy gravity by sitting in chairs upside down and eventually lands on his big noggin as he slides towards the floor (totally oblivious to his tumble of course). Chaz has a favorite game of tugging his human friends around on a rolling office chair J All you need is: 1) toy 2) flat surface 3) 2-legged participant not prone to motion sickness and 3) a Chaz. Wheeee! Chaz holds on to the toy and pulls his giggling friend around until both parties are quite dizzy. As they say, a tired dog is a good dog! Chaz loves making his people happy and he has a beautiful smile that he sports quite often to show his joy. Chaz has gorgeous, pristine white teeth and a long, lolling pink tongue that is very soft when he gives kisses. He also adores getting belly rubs and will throw down on his back in snow, mud and anywhere else to get some special attention from his friends. Chaz loves to play with other dogs! Chaz’s play style is bouncy and active. Chaz is also very friendly and outgoing with the smaller shelter dogs but his energetic play style is a bit much for them. Chaz is learning how to walk on a leash and currently wears an Easy Walk harness on his outings. Chaz also does a great job of pottying outdoors but will need time and patience to learn a new routine. Chaz has a very good “sit” worked out and is learning other commands. Chaz loves to work for treats. Chaz is full grown and, ahem, has a full waistline. We’re not worried about that though, there’s just more huggable, squeezable Chaz to love! We know as soon as he goes Home he’ll have no problem staying fit. This boy will be more than happy to stay active and play his days away once given the chance in a home environment. Chaz is ready to be somebody’s special side-kick for all of life’s adventures. Just one look into those warm brown eyes will tell you this boy is 100% goofball-lover-boy. Who doesn’t need a boy like Chaz in their life? Chaz is a member of the Bully Breed Program. As with all our Bully Program members, Chaz comes with a lifetime of free training and support in our pit bull only training classes. Chaz is looking for a loving, responsible and knowledgeable furever family. If you'd like to meet charmer Chaz or would like to learn more about him, please contact adoptabulls@cahs-pets.org for more information.

JoyAnna (Adopted! Yay!)
Have you smiled today? Sweetie JoyAnna can help keep a smile on your face 365 days a year! JoyAnna is, as you might guess, a very joyful girl. She loves people, other dogs, tennis balls, running, treats…you get the picture! JoyAnna was rescued by CAHS humane agents after being abandoned in a vacant house. This poor girl was suffering from a skin condition that caused major hair loss and a serious case of the itchy scratchies. Luckily for JoyAnna, her humane agent heroes brought her to a place where she received the proper treatment for her skin condition and lots of TLC to reassure her that nobody would leave her behind ever again. Joy’s fur has grown back to a luxurious coat of rich chocolate brown, eye-catching blue and just right spots of white on all four paws and more. JoyAnna is a very friendly, social and outgoing pup. At about 10 months old, lovebug JoyAnna is nearly full grown but full of puppy curiosity, adorableness and mischievous energy. JoyAnna makes easy friends with the other dogs at the shelter. She has a dorky, bouncy play style with her canine pals and enjoys a lively romp. JoyAnna is learning to ride in a car and likes to put her head in her person’s lap to get some reassurance about the world outside whizzing by. She loves field trips and new adventures. JoyAnna is a member of the Bully Breed Program. As with all our Bully Program members, JoyAnna comes with a lifetime of free training and support in our pit bull only training classes. JoyAnna is looking for a loving, responsible and knowledgeable furever family. If you'd like to meet joyial JoyAnna or would like to learn more about her, please contact adoptabulls@cahs-pets.org for more information.

Swatch (adopted - yay!)
Introducing Swatch! This bouncy bully boy is waiting to greet you. Swatch’s happy demeanor is infectious; he spreads smiles wherever he goes. Swatch is the perfect size at just under 50 pounds—he’s a born “full size” lap dog just waiting to cuddle up with you. Swatch is named after the pooch (another black and white terrier actually) on the television show Project Runway. Though this Swatch may not fit in a purse, he’s ready to fit right in to his new family. Swatch was rescued by CAHS humane agents from his previous life where his owner wasn’t caring for him properly. Swatch has made lots of canine friends during his stay at the shelter. On most Saturdays, you can find Swatch enjoying a good wrestle session in the dog run with another 4-legged buddy. Swatch is doing very well with his housebreaking and potties consistently outdoors. Are you looking for an energetic, joyful pup to add to your family? Look no further than our buddy Swatch! As with all our Bully Program members, Swatch comes with a lifetime of free training and support in our pit bull only training classes. Swatch is looking for a loving, responsible and knowledgeable furever family. If you'd like to meet sweet Swatch or would like to learn more about him, please contact adoptabulls@cahs-pets.org for more information.
